Portraits and Other Likenesses was an exhibition put on by the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco from May 8,-October 11, 2015. It focused on the different stories and representations of artists from all over the world in the African diaspora.
The visual language and graphic identity serve to convey the different narratives of diasporic African community and their connectivity through a abstract shape made of different parts. This represents the individuality of each of those stories while uniting to make a whole connected piece suggesting the connections of diasporic groups.
Some close up scans of the various textiles used.
